SDK CPA Joins the Fight Against Hunger at This Year’s “Pack at the Park”

At SDK, community engagement is more than just a value, it’s a commitment we live out year after year. On Friday, May 16th, our team once again rolled up their sleeves and stepped away from spreadsheets to participate in “Pack at the Park”, a powerful event organized by Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) to fight global hunger.

Held at Target Field, home of Major League Baseball’s Minnesota Twins, “Pack at the Park” brings together hundreds of volunteers from across Minnesota to pack nutritious meals for children in need around the world. SDK was proud to be part of this incredible effort, with our team members representing the firm in hairnets, gloves, and plenty of team spirit.

This year’s event had an energy that was both inspiring and humbling. In just a few short hours, SDK’s group helped pack 130,680 meals, each one a small step toward a larger mission: ensuring that no child goes to bed hungry.

Over the duration of the two day event, an incredible number of volunteers came together to pack an astonishing amount of meals. Here are the totals from the entire event:

  • 3,126 volunteers participated
  • 881,928 meals were packed
  • 2,416 kids will be fed a daily meal for a year

“Giving back is an essential part of our firm culture,” said Shareholder Wendy Harden. “Pack at the Park is a great reminder of what we can accomplish when we come together for a cause.”

SDK has supported Feed My Starving Children for several years, and participating in “Pack at the Park” has become one of our favorite annual traditions. It’s a meaningful way for our team to bond, serve others, and support a nonprofit organization making a real difference worldwide.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to contribute, and even more thankful to our clients and community partners who inspire us to keep doing more, together.
