The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) recently released a Fraud Awareness Training Benchmarking Report to aid organizations in assessing their fraud awareness training efforts and identify best practices. The report summarizes the results of a survey the ACFE conducted exploring the ways organizations develop, implement, evaluate, and support their fraud awareness training programs. Of the survey respondents, 71% indicated that their organization provides some form of fraud awareness training to its employees. In addition, there was a high consistency among organizations in terms of topics covered in their fraud awareness training. As set forth in the following chart, the most commonly covered topics were: red flags of fraud, ethics, organizational anti-fraud polices and reporting procedures.
