On December 1, 2021, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) issued a news bulletin with tips for taxpayers on preparing to file their 2021 tax returns in the spring of 2022. These tips cover various topics such as how to gather and organize tax records, confirming mailing addresses and reporting name changes, viewing account information online, and reviewing proper tax withholding and making adjustments. Some of these items will be especially important with the Economic Impact Payments, Advance Child Tax Credit Payments, and other pandemic related items that are relatively new for taxpayers to keep record of.
